Course Qualifications

The Level 3 First Aid at work qualification is the industry standard for people working in high risk environments. This three day first aid course consists of 18 hours contact time with our experienced first aid tutors. We will cover a range of first aid conditions and situations across the three day course. We ensure all our first aid qualifications are delivered professionally and the experience is enjoyable, allowing you to gain valuable hands on practical first aid experience to prepare you for any first aid emergency situation.

The Level 3 is the industry recognised qualification that can help boost your CV, make you more employable and if you are an employer, protect your staff and organisation. Level 3 First Aid at Work Course Content

These two units are delivered both theoretically and practically to ensure you enjoy your learning experience and leave the course having gained a large amount of knowledge in the topic areas below:

Unit 1

1. Understand the roles and responsibilities of a first aider

2. Be able to assess an incident

3. Be able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally

4. Be able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally

5. Know how to recognise and assist a casualty who is choking

6. Be able to manage a casualty with external bleeding

7. Be able to manage a casualty who is in shock

8. Be able to manage a casualty with a minor injury

Unit 2

1. Be able to conduct a secondary survey.

2. Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with injuries to bones, muscles and joints.

3. Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with suspected head and spinal injuries.

4. Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with suspected chest injuries.

5. Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with burns and scalds.

6. Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with an eye injury.

7. Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with sudden poisoning

8. Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with anaphylaxis.

9. Be able to provide first aid to a casualty with suspected major illness.

HABC Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work – Entry Requirements

First Aid Course do not require you to have any prior qualifications in first aid to complete the Level 3 First Aid at Work Course. A basic level of English, including both speaking and writing is all we require to participate.

We offer additional support if required to any learners on our courses, all you need to do is make us aware of any learning requirements and we can arrange the relevant support. The Level 3 First Aid at Work course will allow you to develop additional knowledge and understanding of first aid protocols and situations with over the three training days. Level 3 First Aid Course Delivery Format

We have designed our Level 3 Award in First Aid qualification to ensure you are able to complete an informal assessment; this is so you can feel relaxed when completing basic oral and practical assessments throughout the course. Our first aid tutors will make sure everyone feels relaxed about carrying out practical demonstrations while continually providing additional support throughout the course. Our PASS rates on this course remain at 100% as all our learners successfully complete the entire training course. The tutor will continually observe you carrying out practical demonstrations while role playing first aid scenarios.

Once you have successfully completed the informal assessment and passed the qualification you will be sent a certificate, with a plastic card detailing your qualifications. These can be used to show your employer / potential employers to prove you are competent to deliver first aid at work.

You are expected to attend a three day course which is based on 6 hours contact time per day with one of our specialised tutors.
